Games (and Mods)

Hop Shift

A game released on itch about colors and hopping. There are 4 difficulties, and each level uses random generation. Levels get progressively harder as the player has to flip their way to get the furthest time.

What I was able to create: Colors, Random Generation, Gravity Flipping, Animated Main Menu, Difficulty Ramp Over Time, High Score System, Mirrored Environment, Spawner System, Music Manager, Browser Version of Game

Wizards Of Mystweave

Wizards of Mystweave was a dream game that I woke up one day and thought: I should build a cooler Wizard101. This game taught me a great deal about how to use/create my own shaders and character customization.

What I was able to create: Character Creation System, Unique Customizable Shaders, Spells, Working Chat System with Filters, Time System, Dialogue System, Health System, Level System

Shader + Shader Graph I Made For It

ACG

This was my second attempt at making a multiplayer game using fusion 2, and this also happens to be the one that worked because I spent more time understanding the setup with photon fusion 2. This game was my combination of making Animal Crossing with Final Fantasy combat.

What I was able to create:  Character Customization Menu, Level Up System (three leveling systems added to create an overall level), Enemies, Swimming, Race Selection, Enemy Spawner System, 3 Different Terrains, Icon Popups when Picking Up Items, Unique Shaders, Player Combat Logic, Camera Switches

DemonicCraft (Minecraft Mod)

Modding has always been a thing I wanted to do as a kid, so when I saw a course on Udemy for Minecraft naturally I learned it. I never released this mod even though it is at a point where I could actually release it. This is where I learned most of my Java.

What I was able to create: Biomes, Sea Creatures, Monsters, Weapons, Ores, Enemies, Crafting Recipes, Tracking Rods, Custom Commands, Paintings, Texture Packs, Custom Non-modded Items, Custom Smeltery, Custom Crafting Tables, Light Blocks, Different Liquids, Sky Alterations, Custom Enchants, New Mob Behaviors, Custom Portals, Custom Tools, Minigames, Potions

demonshotMC.png

Although not my first game, this was my very first game that I put online for others to view. This is my most notable game that I spent a year working on until I felt confident enough to show it off a little. Demon Shot is something I really want to come back to at some point. This game is what happens when you combine Terraria, Minecraft, Binding of Isaac, and Stardew Valley into one game.

What I was able to create:  Level Up System, Skill Tree System, Enemies, Farming, Procedurally Generated Dungeons, Needs System, Shop System, Dialogue System, Hover Over Items Details, Inventory System, Scene Changes, Moving Objects Around, Enemy Pathfinding, Quests System, Shooting, Health System, Scene Management, Version Control, Website Creation

Holy Cluckin' Birds

Holy Cluckin' Birds I created in just three days for a total of about 12 hours to put onto here to prove that I know how to develop. This was a very fun game I created that is basically Plants versus Zombies, but instead it is Birds versus Demons.

What I was able to create: Combat, PVZ Recreation, Placement System, Removal System, Currency Manager, Enemy Wave Spawner

Music Tracks

All Of my music has been made through LMMS Studio and some then gets passed through into Audacity. The music that is passed into Audacity will have its volume, tempo, special effects added and even note changes to make the song sound complete. I have a certificate in LMMS through Udemy, and I use the platform because it is a free source that I have to create all kinds of tracks. Some of my tracks I do use a template for, and my tracks can take anywhere from an hour to a few days to create depending on the quality of it. Down below you can click on some of my tracks. I have created probably over fifty music tracks and at least a hundred sound effects. I selected some I really liked for use in this portfolio that all had a different theme (plus Wix is limited on how much storage I can add).

3D Art

Blender has been a tool I have been using since I started game development back in 2020. My desire to make games has led me to learning all sorts of skills and techniques which I never even considered. Blender is my number one tool that I use to make all my models and designs for 3D games. I have certificates for this tool which took weeks to months to obtain and hours of time. On top of using Blender, I also am able to create models in Block Bench which is basically the child form of Blender with less tools. I also have used VRoid Studio for a small amount of my models. VRoid is a quick and easy way to make a human model in which I can then pass into Blender to scuplt and change the format into an FBX for future use. I have a lot more models for design, but I had decided only to show off a small number of models that I created from start to finish in Blender and not include anything from Block Bench or VRoid as they are more of the child steps up to the Blender program.

Below I have some examples of 3D work I have done in the past.

About Me

Designing games full time has become my dream job for the last 5 years. My start has been through Unreal Engine taking multiple courses to learn C++, but then switching to C# as I heard Unity was a lot more popular for developers at the time. I have many certificates in coding languages, LMMS music, 2D art, and 3D art. All of my mods and games use my own textures, shaders, sprites, 3D designs, and scripts. In my work, the only things not created by me are some packs or templates that I use. I primarily write in C#, but I have used other languages such as C++, Html, Lua, Python and Java. I also have basic knowledge in modding other games such as Baldur's Gate 3, Minecraft, and Repo.

Currently I have work experience that does not go with being a developer. I've worked jobs as a cashier, stocker, cook, barista, and baker. I've done all these jobs full time while still developing games, posting dev logs, and creating mods all on my own time. Unfortunately, I never was able to get college education due to expenses, but I believe I make up for it from many years of Udemy learning. Anything your company can teach me I will want to learn.

My hopes are after you view this portfolio you'd consider me as a possible candidate. I really want to learn everything I can to be a professional game developer. In all honesty, if your company does not see me fit for the position I applied for, I filled my portfolio with multiple different fields of making a game as I would love to contribute wherever my skills are needed. I love all elements of creating a game from the art, music, down to the code. If selected, I can promise hard work and dedication to any project I am a part of.
